Operates a sexual assault centre and a shelter for women and their children who have been victims of violence. Provides advocacy and follow-up services where possible.

• Operates a transitional housing unit for women leaving the Shelter who have limited income or have incurred difficulties in finding places to rent
• Included in the rent are heat, hydro, phone, Internet and bedding/linens
• Provides fully furnished one 3-bedroom, three 2-bedroom and 2 one-bedroom apartment units with a secure entrance and security system that is monitored 24 hours a day
• Offers access to the same programs and services as all the clients have while staying at the Shelter

• Operates an emergency shelter for women and their children
• Manages a 24-hour crisis support line

Women are provided with:

• Helps secure and maintain housing, and helps develop an individual safety and transitional plan
• Assists residents of the shelter, as well as non shelter residents in completing applications to Timmins Housing
• Supports women to live free from violence by connecting them with necessary community support such as housing counselling, parenting support, education upgrading, job training, income support, legal aid and health and wellness services
• Prioritizes the safety and well-being of women and their children
• Assists women in identifying the choices and resources available for them and their children

• Provides consistent, caring and safe residential support in group homes situated throughout the communities of Timmins and South Porcupine
• Ensures individuals with varying and complex needs receive the specialized services they require

• Works in partnership with a Physician and other community health care workers to provide health and wellness services for residents
• Offers diet planning, medication monitoring, education, and nursing care to individuals

• Provides short stay respite and convalescent beds (minimum 1 week)
• Offers seniors a comfortable and secure home that encourages independence as well as an active, healthy and involved lifestyle

• 24 hour support staff
• Basic care services, including assistance with bathing, personal hygiene, ambulation, and administration of medication

• Provides assistance in securing funding for rent-to-own housing through CMHC

• Provides recommendations and changes to the housing policy
• Receives and reviews applications for renovations, new housing units, housing loans and housing renovation loans
• Reviews rents to ensure payments are made
• Arranges inspections of rental units and community houses for maintenance, repairs and renovations
• Carries out annual maintenance and repairs on behalf of tenants and ensures work is completed
• Maintains a comprehensive database on all community housing units that includes information such as what programs were accessed for building and repairs, loans outstanding, services (water, sewer, roads) available, inspection reports, condition of unit, year it was built and other unit particulars

• Providing assistance in the development of community infrastructure including roads, bridges, buildings, subdivision planning and mapping
• Providing assistance in the long-term planning of minor/major capital projects
• Development and maintenance of all documents and forms related to housing including leases, releases and notices

• Addresses and acts upon all housing issues and related requests
• Ensures that housing issues are effectively managed
• Provides recommendations and changes to the housing policy
• Receives and reviews applications for renovations, new housing units, housing loans and housing renovation loans
