To meet the needs of women experiencing violence, Ellevive, a non-profit organization run by, for, and with women, offers a full range of high-quality French-language services throughout the Cochrane District

• Offers a shelter diversion program to help house homeless individuals

• Helps individuals build life skills that enable them to maintain permanent housing
• Develops housing goals with each individual

• Offers rent geared to income and market rent services
• Processes applications, maintains waiting lists and identifies applicants for tenant selection

• Operates a transitional housing unit for women leaving the Shelter who have limited income or have incurred difficulties in finding places to rent
• Included in the rent are heat, hydro, phone, Internet and bedding/linens
• Provides fully furnished one 3-bedroom, three 2-bedroom and 2 one-bedroom apartment units with a secure entrance and security system that is monitored 24 hours a day
• Offers access to the same programs and services as all the clients have while staying at the Shelter

• Operates an emergency shelter for women and their children

Women are provided with:

• Provides consistent, caring and safe residential support in group homes situated throughout the communities of Timmins and South Porcupine
• Ensures individuals with varying and complex needs receive the specialized services they require

• Works in partnership with a Physician and other community health care workers to provide health and wellness services for residents
• Offers diet planning, medication monitoring, education, and nursing care to individuals

• Provides short stay respite and convalescent beds (minimum 1 week)
• Offers seniors a comfortable and secure home that encourages independence as well as an active, healthy and involved lifestyle

• Maintains a comprehensive database on all community housing units that includes information such as what programs were accessed for building and repairs, loans outstanding, services (water, sewer, roads) available, inspection reports, condition of unit, year it was built and other unit particulars

• Providing assistance in the development of community infrastructure including roads, bridges, buildings, subdivision planning and mapping
• Providing assistance in the long-term planning of minor/major capital projects

A discretionary fund available to provide individuals in the District of Muskoka, who are experiencing or are at-risk of poverty, emergency financial assistance with modest one-time grants to address basic needs including:

• Basic Needs (clothing, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene supplies, and footwear)
• Transportation (gas gift card, taxi voucher, bus ticket, medical transportation, and vehicle expenses)
• Social Integration (access to a cellphone or phone cards)
• Health and Wellness (medication, emergency dental and eyeglasses)
• Housing Start-up Costs (furniture, bedding and mattress)
• Family Supports (childcare, formula and diapers, and school supplies for children/youth)
• Food Security (grocery gift card and baby food)
