Works to empower and provide a voice for women and the communities in which they live in order to:

• Eliminate violence against women and children
• Create social change regarding issues of equality and justice
• Develop, apply and increase awareness of anti-oppressive approaches
• Provide healing from sexual violence

Provides a variety of services, including:

• Advocacy, information and referral
• Beyond Trauma group counselling
• Food and clothing bank (currently closed due to COVID-19)
• Individual counselling
• Journey of Life Group
• Workshops

• Provides support to individuals and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless due to a crisis situation
• Addresses the immediate crisis and stabilizes the household
• Identifies areas of concern where an individual or family may require additional supports
• Serves as the entry point for all other services

Offers the following services:

Housing sustainability plan

• An assessment is completed to determine the current housing and financial status of the household and the short and long-term interventions and resources required to stabilize the household

Advocacy

• Works with individuals, families and partner agencies to find alternate solutions to resolve conflicts that do not always involve the need for funding

Imminent Housing acquisition and stabilization

• Targets individuals who have been released from the hospital, detoxification programs, or the justice system
• Provides immediate housing and stabilization tools, such as prescriptions, food, and household starter packs

Rent Arrears

• Can only be accessed once the Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI) has been exhausted
• Individuals and families can access on a sliding scale up to two months of rent arrears

Community Housing Guarantee Program

• Ensures landlords receive last months rent in order to provide an incentive to house individuals and families who are in difficult financial situations but require housing

Landlord Liaison

• Liaises with public and private landlords to help individuals or families who are at risk of eviction either remain housed or find and secure housing

Vacancy List

• Responsible for producing a daily Vacancy List and distributing it to partners across the District

Energy Fund

• Provides intervention prior to the disconnection of utilities in order to save money and avoid shelter stays and large deposit requirements

Housing success Facilitators

• Facilitators respond to crisis intervention requests and take part in crisis assessments where expertise is required to ensure the best support services are utilized

Immediate Stabilization Tool-Kit

• Provides households with items that ensure a house remains functional, such as appliances, prescriptions, and household starter packs

Hoarding Response Team

• Responds to suspected cases of hoarding, only when the local fire department has been contacted

• Operates an emergency women's shelter
• Manages a crisis support line

Offers the following services:

• Intake assessment to determine appropriate services and referrals
• Assistance in managing the needs of children within the shelter
• Assistance with the development of a personal safety plan
• Crisis and support counselling (adult and child)
• Community education on shelter and issues of abuse
• Follow-up after leaving the shelter

Provides the following programs:

• 24 Hour Helpline
• Family Court Support Worker program
• Transitional and Housing Support Program
• Second Stage Housing
• Women's Outreach

• Offers on-site early intervention and crisis intervention
• Provides needs assessment, safety planning and referrals to community services
• Offers enhanced support for vulnerable victims
• Provides assistance with applications to VQRP+

Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+)

Provides assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including:

• home safety
• accommodation
• meals
• transportation
• basic necessities
• dependent care costs
• counselling
• traditional Indigenous health services
• cellular phones
• vision care
• dental care
• aids for victims with disabilities
• interpretation services
• crime scene cleanup
• government/medical documents
• funeral expenses

Additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes:

• storage locker
• tattoo removal
• treatment at a recovery facility

Note: No direct reimbursement to victims for above supports

Financial support also available for:

• victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime
• parents of child homicide victims
• spouses of homicide victims

• Provides individualized 24 hour emergency service to victims and survivors of sexual assault and/or domestic violence
• Provides emergency medical assessment and treatment

Provides initial emergency care only with the patient's informed consent, and may include all or part of the following:

• Assessment and treatment of injuries
• Testing/treatment/prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STI), including HIV
• Emergency contraceptives
• Reassurance and emotional support
• Collection of forensic evidence including photographs
• Risk assessment and safety planning
• Referral for medical follow-up
• Referral to appropriate social agencies
• Referral to shelter and or other relevant community resources
• Police involvement, at victims request
• Storage of forensic evidence for up to six months if the patient is uncertain about involving the authorities

98 bed capacity hospital with 24 hour emergency care services, as well as inpatient and outpatient services

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:

• Cardiac rehabilitation
• Diagnostic Imaging (x-ray, ultrasound, mammography, Ontario Breast Screening Program)
• ECG and Respiratory Therapy
• Laboratory
• Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology)

Outpatient Services:

• Ambulatory services (hosts regular clinics such as cardiology, urology, nephrology, pediatric, gynecology, sleep labs, psychiatric clinics)
• Clinical nutrition
• Diabetes management
• Oncology

Crisis Intervention

• Provides in-person crisis intervention
• Offers assessment, crisis counselling, advocacy, and referrals to community agencies
