• Ensures access to high quality holistic services which promote personal, family and community responsibility to health care

Provides supports and services to strengthen community families

• Provides support, guidance, advocacy and education at both a community level and within individual families through family and community events and traditional, cultural practices such as community/family circles
• Delivers prevention and early intervention services to high-risk children and families of the community on behalf of Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services
• Assists families who are experiencing parental challenges by providing them with the tools and skills needed

Provides information and assistance to support participation in and understanding of the criminal court process

• services begin once police have laid charges and continue until the court case is over
• information about victims' rights, the criminal justice process and their specific case (e.g., court dates)
• needs assessment and referrals to community agencies
• crisis intervention, emotional support, victim advocacy
• facilitates victim's input and liaises with Crown Attorneys, police, regarding bail, safety, resolution of charges, release conditions, publication bans, testimonial aids, trial preparation and court orientation
• information and support on Victim Impact Statements, Statement on Restitution
• facilitates access to court orders, such as bail conditions, probation orders, peace bonds
• debriefing and follow-up support

Vulnerable Victims and Family Fund

Provides financial and court-based supports to enable victims of crime and families of homicide victims to attend court, including:

• Travel arrangements and expenses
• Language interpretation
• Real-time captioning or other equipment for victims with disabilities

Provides a range of mental health services for children, youth and families

Offers a variety of programs and services including all or any of the following, depending upon location:

• Child and Family Intervention Program (CFI)
• Children's Mobile Crisis Program

Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+)

• vision care
• dental care
• aids for victims with disabilities
• interpretation services
• crime scene cleanup
• government/medical documents
• funeral expenses

Additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes:

• storage locker
• tattoo removal
• treatment at a recovery facility

Note: No direct reimbursement to victims for above supports

Financial support also available for:

• victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime
• parents of child homicide victims
• spouses of homicide victims

• Provides culturally appropriate support services, resources, educational materials, and workshops to address community wellness needs
• Coordinates men's and women's wellness sessions such as breakfasts and guest speakers
• Provides victim service referrals and emergency support for family violence and mental health crises
• Works one-on-one with families experiencing family violence to develop a plan of action for identified concerns
• Provides referrals to counselling, legal services, and treatment centres and other needed supports
• Organizes and facilitates community events in schools, powwows, and health fairs to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevention of family violence
• Develops programs, workshops, promotions, and prevention education campaigns dealing with family-based violence awareness

Provides outreach mental health services to communities, schools and home visits

• Incorporates a wholistic approach to client care that incorporates the spiritual, physical, emotional and mental needs of each individual
• Supports traditional and cultural approaches to healing; mental healing and wellness activities include fishing, snaring, trapping, snowshoeing, eagle staff teaching and drum making

• Provides intake and subsequent treatment plan for each participant
• Coordinates monthly appointments with Dr Dressler's office (former methadone clinic in Little Current) via Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN)
• Coordinates consultations with visiting professionals such as Psychiatrist, Psychologist and Aboriginal Mental Health and Addictions Child & Youth Worker
• Offers both traditional and western forms of intervention services

Direct clinical interventions offered include:

• Administration of Suboxone treatments
• Advocacy and support
• Assessment of regular urine testing
• Clinical assessments
• Counselling for individuals, couples and families
• Crisis intervention
• Referrals to more specialized treatments

Indirect interventions can include:

• Community based prevention activities

• Provides wraparound, confidential care for individuals who have experienced sexual and/or domestic violence at any time in their lives
• Works in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team including cultural supports
• Supports survivors at every stage of the healing journey using a holistic approach and traditional Indigenous healing methods

Provides the following services:

• Initial assessments
• Supportive and stabilization counselling
• Trauma based treatment intervention
• Advocacy, system navigation and case management support

Immediate services and support for victims of sexual assault/domestic violence include:

• Crisis intervention and emotional support
• Testing and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) including HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
• Emergency contraceptive options such as the morning-after pill
• Risk assessment and safety planning
• Referrals to community agencies for additional support

Health centre focused on family and community health

• Offers primary health care services through a medical clinic and outreach programs
• Provides clinical services through Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Traditional Healers
• Offers a combination of Indigenous traditional healing methods and Western medical practices
• Provides chronic disease management and prevention, pre/postnatal care, nutrition, health education, health promotion, and counselling
• Provides referrals to other service providers and specialists
• Coordinates and hosts a public Child Poverty Task Force to address food-related health challenges in at-risk communities on Manitoulin Island; Task Force also compiled the Community Food Security Directory for Manitoulin
• Collaborates with Mnaamodzawin Regional Health Authority and all First Nation Health Centres/Services on Manitoulin Island as well as other health service providers
• Publishes a monthly newsletter online

• Performs psychological assessments and diagnoses for individuals experiencing mental health problems in a variety of areas
• Provides psychological treatment and counselling for adults and adolescents

• Offers a preventative strategy training initiative to empower youth to create healthy relationships
• Strives to educate youth about the links between sexist attitudes and violence
• Works to assist youth in developing healthy thinking skills
• Incorporates Aboriginal cultural teachings and traditional ceremonies in the teachings

• Delivers child care and protection services and family support services to community members
• Administers child welfare prevention services in collaboration with Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services located in Wikwemikong
• Aims to reduce the removal of M'Chigeeng First Nation children from their family, culture, and community
• Partners with community police officers and local nursing staff to identify and support troubled families

Provides the following services:

• Advocacy on behalf of children, youth and families
