Searching for Disabilities Employment Programs

Provides training and supports to enable individuals to secure paid employment and/or unpaid placement opportunities

• Provides instruction on developing job skills, social skills and good work habits
• Offers information about industrial practices
• Provides job coaching at places of secured employment as required
• Provides employment through various community contracts such as yardwork and snow removal
• Provides training in various printing related areas such as shredding, folding, photocopying and laminating through Good Impressions Printing, located in the building
• Tailors ongoing training and supports to meet the needs and capabilities of each individual

Provides education and training for individuals to secure employment and to complete work contracts

• Offers assistance and guidance to learn skills required to meet job requirements for both on/off site employment opportunities
• Provides supervision and training at the various job sites until individual is able to perform job independently
• Provides transportation to/from places of employment

Supported Employment

• Provides supports to businesses that employ individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities
• Provides training to the employed individual

Operates a Day Centre designed to enhance the social, mental, and physical well-being of participants

Offers various recreational and psycho-educational groups where individuals will gain skills to:

• Reduce the harmful effects of substance use
• Develop positive coping mechanisms
• Promote positive support networks

Utilizes an outreach, community-based case management approach to help clients with a severe mental illness and co-occuring substance use disorder overcome problems related to alcohol/drug abuse or dependence and stabilize their mental illness

Develops an individualized treatment plan that can include:

• Counselling
• Psychiatric assessment and follow-up care
• Pharmacotherapy
• Group therapy
• Psychoeducation
• Therapeutic recreation

Provides supports and services to enable survivors of mental health and addictions issues to integrate back into structured life and gainful employment

• Develops an individualized vocational treatment plan that connects the client to the clinical and community support required to meet his or her employment, productivity or educational goals
• Offers situational assessments and work placements in a supported work site
• Provides employment counseling, including ongoing job coaching and job maintenance
• Provides opportunities for membership/employment in the Team Werks Co-op Program
• Offers clients an opportunity to progress through a continuum of individualized services and supports
