Searching for Street Outreach

Human Trafficking is a criminal offence and involves recruiting, transporting, transferring, receiving, holding, concealing or harbouring a person, or exercising control, direction or influence over the movements of a person, for purpose of exploiting them or facilitating their exploitation

Offers the following services to victims/survivors of human trafficking:

• Provides a confidential 24-hour Crisis Line
• Offers trauma counselling
• Provides outreach to individuals at risk of being victimized
• Offers education, prevention and community supports that will increase awareness and understanding of the causes of human trafficking
• Offers information on police investigation, medical and legal procedures
• Provides individuals advocacy and accompaniment through any procedures they choose
• Offers referrals when requested
• Provides information and support for families and friends of the victim or survivor of human trafficking

• Offers a place of worship in a Christian setting
• Affiliated with the Church of God of Tennessee
• Provides regular worship services
• Provides outreach services in the community
• Offers spiritual counselling and guidance
• Supports individuals and families with prayer upon request

Operates a street ministry which helps build relationships with people by getting involved with them throughout the week and provides the following services:

• Clothing
• Groceries for emergency situations
• Meals after Sunday service and several days during the week
• Transportation
• Visiting

Provides free, confidential, non-emergency support to the street-involved population including:

• Counselling and referral to services
• Harm reduction services
• Infectious disease follow up
• Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatment

Operates a storefront church

• Offers a place of worship in a Christian setting
• Provides spiritual and pastoral care
• Performs marriages and funeral services for the poor and less fortunate living in the Simpson Street area
• Accepts donations of small household goods and clothing (no children's clothing)

Provides the following free of charge:

• Clothing
• Small household goods
• Coffee, tea
• Homemade meals (daily 1 pm-4 pm)
