Description
  • Operates a volunteer fire department and maintains a fire hall
  • Provides land-based services only
  • Provides fire suppression services to structural and non-structural fires that are accessible by a maintained road
  • Responsible for fire prevention and administration of the Ontario Fire Code
  • Issues applicable burn permits required for brush piles, incinerators and open fires, excluding campfires
  • Provides fire safety and prevention education
The Municipality has agreements in place with the Britt and Area Fire Department, the French River Fire Department and the Ministry of Natural Resources for further provision of fire services
