- Description
- Provides services for Ontario Works (OW) participants with addictions to alcohol, illicit drugs and/or prescription drugs
- Focuses on providing support in overcoming individual barriers to employment through treatment
- Coordinates and facilitates related workshops
- Provides transportation of clients participating in either the Addictions Services Initiative (ASI) program or an employment support activity
- Works on the Harm Reduction philosophy and on the Stages of Change plan to support each person at individual stages on their road to recovery
- Assessment to determine the best path to recovery, self sufficiency and well being
- Intensive case management
- Assistance in identifying education, vocational/career goals and help with developing a plan to achieve short and long term goals
- Referrals to other agencies such as Wiikwemkoong Health Services, Manitoulin Withdrawal Program and other mental health/treatment programs
- Support services during external treatment process and aftercare phase
- Eligibility
- Members of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory
Must be:- Ontario Works (OW) participants currently on benefits and
- Struggling with alcohol, illicit drugs and/or prescription drug addictions
