Early Intervention in Psychosis


Description
Functions as a specialized program for adolescents and young adults experiencing symptoms of psychosis for the first time

Assistance can be provided through the following services:
  • Education for individual, family and friends about the condition and/or diagnosis, medication and symptoms management
  • Counselling
  • Monitoring of symptoms and side effects
  • Assistance with accessing education and employment opportunities
  • Crisis and relapse prevention
  • After care planning post-discharge from program
Hours of Operation
Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5 pm, Sep-May
Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Jun-Aug
Crisis Services: Mon-Fri 5 pm-12 am; wknds/holidays 8:30 am-12 am
Eligibility
Individuals 16-35 years of age experiencing symptoms of psychosis for the first time and have had treatment for less than 12 months or no treatment at all

Referral through family physician or mental health worker at Minto Counselling Centre
