Description

Offers a free group exercise program twice a week for 12 weeks for older adults who are concerned about their balance or have had a fall

Exercises are designed to:
  • build balance, strength and flexibility
  • increase leg strength
  • increase mobility
  • practice and maintain good posture
  • reduce the risk of falling
Program also teaches:?
  • simple exercises to do at home
  • how to choose proper footwear
  • how to adapt the home and adopt safe behaviour
  • safely use medications
  • be more active

Eligibility
Older adults 65 years of age and older who have had a fall or are concerned about their balance
Application Process
  • Registration is required
  • Brief assessment required to determine eligibility
  • Participants must commit to attend 12 weeks of class, 2.5 hours per week
