Description
  • Provides non-perishable food items to low-income individuals in an emergency situation
  • Accepts donations year-round of food items and/or cash
Eligibility
Families, couples and single adults on a fixed low-income and are members of Henvey Inlet First Nation
Must be in receipt of one of the following:
  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP)
  • Employment Insurance (EI)
  • Old Age Security (OAS)
  • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
  • Ontario Works (OW)
  • Post-Secondary Student Allowance
Application Process
Individual must fill out request form and pick up own bags of food except Elders who can have a family/staff member pick up their bags

  • Band Office is located E off Hwy 69 on Pickerel River Rd in Henvey Inlet First Nation
  • Community is located 1 km E off Hwy 69 along Pickerel River Rd approximately 80 km S of Sudbury
  • Consists of 3 separate reserves: French River 13, the main reserve located on Pickerel River Rd approx 80 km S of Sudbury with a land area of 25.4 sq km, Henvey Inlet 2 located on NE shores of Georgian Bay approx 90 km S of Sudbury with a land area of 96.1 sq km and Cantin Island Reserve (part of French River 13 but on the opposite side of Pickerel River) which is presently being used for seasonal camping and recreational cottages only
