- Description
- Represents the community in all lands and related issues
- Oversees all land management affairs
- Ensures administrative measures and controls are developed to meet the requirements of the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve (WUIR)
- Adheres to and ensures that all procedures as defined by WUIR lands are completed
- Provides preliminary sketches to obtain quotations for legal surveys
- Negotiates and approves rental or lease of various properties on behalf of property/cottage owners and ensures that terms of leases are met
- Reviews all documents related to lands issues submitted by community members for residential, business, industry, public, other government departments and institutes of public government (land use permits, leases, licenses, etc)
- Examines, updates and verifies accuracy of various maps, site plans, and surveys for WUIR
- Provides historical data collection
- Reads, interprets, catalogues and maintains maps, air photos and satellite images of WUIR lands
- Offers technical assistance with Capital Projects
- Assists with Estate issues
- Inputs and maintains data within the Geographic Information system (GIS)
- Acts as the lead in the community land use plan
- Collects and uses data for use in preparation of the comprehensive plan
- Responsible for on-reserve forest management
- Assists with Fisheries Project, Species at Risk Project and Shoreline management
- Participates in community engagement activities
