Description
Operates a primary care facility and provides an array of services
  • Provides primary¬†care through nurses with doctors and pharmacists available 24 hours a day for telephone consultations
  • Supported by rotating Physician visits
  • Provides mental health services
  • Offers palliative care and chronic care
  • Offers on-site laboratory services
  • Provides surgical consultations and a wide spectrum of surgical procedures
  • Arranges for air ambulance transfers to larger centres for emergency/surgical services
  • Receives ambulance and paramedic services by Weeneebayko Area Health Authority-Paramedic Services (WAHA-PS)
  • Provides traditional healing programs approximately once per month based upon availability of healers
  • Provides English/Cree translation and interpretation services
In Patient Care
  • Provides in-patient and chronic care beds
  • Provides basic surgical and pediatric care
  • Offers prenatal and obstetric care (newborn deliveries)
  • Offers assistance for rehabilitation patients
Out Patient Care
  • Provides a 24-hour emergency department
  • Provides primary care assessment and treatment
  • Hosts various clinics including Diabetes, Hypertension, Prenatal and Well Women
Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN)
  • Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment
  • Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities
  • Reduces the need to travel to receive care
