Description
Functions as an alternative to the Court process regarding Child Welfare matters
  • Provides family mediation services (dispute resolution) through traditional Circles
  • Aims to restore harmony between family members through an agreed-upon family care plan
Comments
A Circle is composed of family members, front line workers, agency representatives and community Elders
Eligibility
NAN First Nation families who are involved with a child protection agency
Application Process
  • Referrals can be made by anyone, however all individuals and agencies involved must agree to participate
