Huron Safe Homes for Youth


Description

The primary goal of the Agency is to prevent (restore the family unit when appropriate) and respond to youth homelessness.

Safe Homes provides free, confidential support services to youth (age sixteen to their eighteenth birthday) and their families/caregivers in Huron County. Participation in the program is voluntary.

Services Include:

  • Immediate and long- term planning (in conjunction with the youth/family to address their needs)
  • Mediation (youth and parent/caregiver conflict)
  • Short- term counseling
  • Referral and advocacy
  • Temporary shelter when there is no other viable alternative
  • Independent Living supports
