The BCFMC Walk-In Clinics have restructured and are now closed to all non-FHO patientsOpen only to patients of one of the family physicians listed here https://barriefho.ca/physicians/ After-hours clinic offers increased services and access to primary care for FHO members' patients exclusively, including same-day appointments for FHO patients on a first-come, first-served basis. On-line registration available. See website for details. If your physician is not able to see you, they will direct you to one of the After-Hours Clinic locations or to call 705-722-1199.
Services include:
- Bronchitis and pneumonia
- Sinus infections
- Cold and Flu symptoms
- Vomiting and Diarrhea
- Strep Tests and assessments
- Free medications for sexually transmitted infections (STI) available
- Narcotics will not be prescribed
- COVID-19 PCR testing is no longer available
Telephone Assessments (Tele-Clinic) - Call 705-722-1199 for medical needs not requiring in-person physical assessments or if you are unsure what you require, FHO patients may call their Tele-Clinic to speak to staff and, if necessary, complete a phone assessment with a Physician. (e.g. some prescription renewals).
Note that the services below are NOT appropriate for the Tele-Clinic:
- Controlled substance renewal or prescription
- Musculoskeletal injuries requiring an exam
- Conditions that require a Breast, Pelvic, Genital. or Rectal exam
- Cuts that would reasonably require stitches (longer than 1cm)
- Acute or new psychiatric crises or symptoms
- Any emergency symptoms including: Chest pain, Shortness of breath, Abdominal pain
- New onset severe headaches
- Allergic reaction
- Choking
- Altered state of consciousness
- Head or neck injury
- Patients under 4 years of age

- Call your family physician's office first, if your physician is not able to see you, they will direct you to to use the after-hours clinics.
