- Provides fire suppression, vehicle extrication, ice and water rescue, high and low angle rescue, hazardous materials response, medical assistance and fire fighter defibrillation
- Offers tours of fire stations for individuals and groups, and pumper visits to events
- Issues open burning and recreational burning permits

- Permits are only issued to residents of Thunder Bay
