Independent oversight agency
  • receives, manages and oversees all public complaints about the conduct of a police officer or the policies and services of a police service in Ontario
  • complaints can be about regional and municipal police services or the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) only
  • conducts systemic reviews of police services and audits of complaint services
  • outreach and education sessions with police and the public about the processes for making a complaint in the public complaints system
  • brochures available in French, Chinese, Filipino, Hindi, Punjabi, Russian, Tamil, Ukrainian, Urdu
