Ontario Electricity Support Program, Central Hub

Program that lowers electricity bills for low-income households
  • provides a monthly credit to eligible customers based on household income and household size
  • credits will be applied directly to eligible customers' electricity bills
  • an applicant may qualify for both this program and the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)

  • Call or visit the website to confirm criteria
  • Credit amount depends on how many people live in the house and the combined household income after tax
    If a client's home is electrically heated, or they rely on medical devices requiring a lot of power, OESP offers a higher level of assistance
  • First Nations and Métis also qualify for a higher level of assistance
Application Process
    If an applicant and other members of their household (18-74 years old) have filed taxes once in the last two years, they can apply through the website, complete the online application
