Description
This service provides information and support to children and youth who have witnessed and/or experienced violence. Topics may include :
  • Definition of violence
  • Family changes
  • Who is responsible for violence?
  • Safety planning
  • Witnessing abuse
  • Healthy relationships
  • Feelings
  • How to express anger
  • Dating violence
  • Conflict resolution
  • Self esteem
Short-term intervention is provided through one-on-one and support groups, referrals are made to other service providers for long-term counseling
Eligibility
Children and youth ages 4 to 21 years
