Crisis Response - Timmins and Area
- Description
- Provides immediate crisis assessment, intervention, referrals and follow-up
- Operates a 24-hour crisis hot line
- Provides immediate on site intervention or telephone assistance
- Contacts police when deemed necessary
- Ensures individuals receive support and assistance to secure their safety
- Provides advocacy on behalf of individuals and families dealing with various agencies
- Provides information and referrals to appropriate resources and services
- Assists in person with a serious mental illness in acute distress or situational crisis
- Meets at an alternate safe location that best meets the individuals needs
- Arranges meeting family members at centre or agreed upon location to discuss possible crisis resolutions
- Eligibility
- Individuals in a mental health crisis such as experiencing distressing feelings, thoughts or relationship problems
