Search Agency Service

Offers a call-in number and email for vulnerable persons in the community who are in isolation as recommended by the Family Health Team and City of Elliot Lake
  • Service is for those vulnerable persons who do not have a local contact or family to deliver essential items like food and hygiene products
  • Local grocery stores, Foodland and No Frills, are partnering with the City to help deliver this service
To Access Service:
  • Call 705-849-0970 to register as a client with Age Friendly Delivers or complete the online registration form
  • You will be required to submit your Name, Address, Phone number (required) and payment preference at time of call, and will receive instructions related to delivery
  • A dedicated city staff will then follow up within 24 hours to take your order
  • Orders are limited to 20 items, of essential needs at any one time. (a 3-4 day supply is ideal)
  • Once orders are placed staff will attend grocery stores to purchase items and deliver to your residence with a ZERO CONTACT approach.Zero contact means the grocery order will be left at your door with a receipt for purchase to limit any exposure to those in isolation
  • Individual orders will be billed back to clients directly, at which time they can issue payment by mailing a cheque or calling in with credit card to process payment at this time
  • Online payment processing is also coming soon on the city's website
Important things to remember:
  • This is an essential service for those who have no local contact, and is meant for immediate need for a short term period. You may access services more than once, but as demand increases delivery may be based on need
  • All clients requiring service will be responsible for grocery order expense as identified with receipt received upon delivery
  • It is strongly recommended that all items taken into the home are sanitized upon entry as, although safe handling will be exercised, the City cannot guarantee the exposure to items purchased in a public place
  • This service is for grocery and personal hygiene available at local grocery stores, it is not intended for personal orders throughout other retail establishments or pharmacies (Most pharmacies offer a delivery service and it is recommended you contact your local pharmacy for more information)
  • This is a pilot project intended to meet the needs of our most vulnerable who are self isolating - with the COVID-19 pandemic being an ever changing event, this project will continue to grow with demand and may be altered from time to time
