COVID-19 Due to concerns regarding COVID 19, call to find out where and when to drop off income tax formsFree clinic for individuals unable to complete their income tax and benefit return themselves and are unable to pay for assistance * Volunteers can help complete the income tax and benefit return if income is low and tax situation is simpleReturns are prepared at The Meeting Place but you may request to have them completed at your residence if required * Can prepare last year's and previous years' returns up to 5 years
Suggested maximum income levels:* Single: Up to $35,000* Couple: Up to $45,000* One adult with child: Up to $35,000 * $2500 for additional dependentVolunteers do not prepare tax returns for complex situations such as: * individuals who file for bankruptcy * self-employed individuals * individuals who report capital gains or losses * individuals who report employment expenses, or business or rental income and expensesEligible taxpayers normally served by the CVITP include * Aboriginal peoples * Low-income individuals and social assistance recipients * Newcomers to Canada * Seniors * Students
