St Joseph's Care Group
Transitional Housing

  • Provides 30 transitional housing beds for individuals living with mental illness and/or addictions and who struggle with homelessness
  • Provides a safe place to live, healthy food, and on-site support staff who are available 24/7
  • Help individuals set long-term goals in a stable environment
  • Offers skill building groups that include literacy, cultural teachings, recreational therapy, and cooking groups
Length of stay can vary from several weeks to several months, depending on need.The Lodge has two accessible rooms.The Lodge is a partnership between St Joseph's Care Group, the District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration board, St Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay, Dilico Anishnawbek Family Care, and Alpha Court.

Support Staff Mon-Sun 24/7
  • Individuals who are continuing treatment and rehabilitation for mental health and substance use issues
  • Individuals who are dealing with chronic homelessness
  • Must be medically stable
Application Process
  • Referral from a community worker
  • Individuals will go through an assessment and screening process to determine if they're suitable for the Lodge
