Trauma-Informed Care Program, Timmins

  • Operates as a culturally-grounded, trauma-informed care program for Indigenous women who have been impacted by trauma and wish to exit oppressive and violent situations
  • Supports trauma recovery and works to create safe places for Indigenous women to live healthy and balanced lives
Services include but are not limited to the following:
  • Case management services including assessment, developing safety plans, short and long term planning, supportive counselling and follow up services when required
  • Support, advocacy, referrals and access to community resources as needed
  • Outreach to sexually trafficked Indigenous women and those impacted by violence and trauma
  • Crisis intervention, stabilization and referrals to ongoing counselling services
  • Referrals to cultural and traditional supports and holistic services
  • Education, guidance and support for women on the effects of trauma, effective coping mechanisms and trauma recovery procedures
  • Accompaniment and transportation to women as required
