Indigenous Women's Leadership Program

Supports Indigenous women to become leaders in their communities through the following initiatives:
  • Leadership skills development training on leadership methods, facilitation skills, board development training, and financial literacy
  • Mentorship by established ONWA locals for women in less established centres/member groups to provide effective community leadership
  • Public education, development and use of community and information networks to help promote awareness of Indigenous women in leadership roles
  • Planning sessions for Indigenous women to shape the training program to address specific needs of their communities for community development leadership and business development leadership
Additional services include:
  • A variety of resources for educational and training presentations on leadership development
  • Collaboration with Indigenous women to support cultural gatherings, educational events, demonstrations, community crises and community celebrations
