- Provides advisory and support services to member First Nations as related to mining and exploration activities in the region to ensure First Nations are dealt with fairly
- Works to help members better understand the mining industry and the Ontario Mining Act
- Ensures the First Nations who may be affected by proposed activity are included in the formal notice and consultation process as required by the Ontario Mining Act
- Assists member communities to review and comment on information regarding exploration projects
- Provides guidance during the early exploration stages of mining development referred as the Plans and Permit process
- Facilitates economic growth opportunities and capacity development initiatives
- Ensures the exploration and mining industries act responsibly
- Eligibility
- Must belong to one of the member First Nations in the Robinson-Superior Treaty area served by Nokiiwin Tribal Council
