Traditional Healing Program


Description
  • Offers traditional healing methods for individuals, families and communities through Traditional Healers, Elders and Medicine People
  • Provides cultural programs to individuals on probation in the justice system
Programs and services can include:
  • Aboriginal Orientation (10 justice circle sessions)
  • Ceremonies such as Fasting Camps, Naming and Colours
  • Individual counselling
  • Medicine-making workshops
  • Sweat lodges
  • Turning Full Circle (13 justice circle sessions)

Eligibility
  • Must be a patient of the Health Centre
  • Must provide proof of valid provincial health care coverage


Application Process
  • Must be rostered with a Physician/Nurse Practitioner of Misiway Milopemahtesewin Health Centre to receive services
  • Registration for a Primary Care Provider (Physician or Nurse Practitioner) must be done with Health Care Connect Ontario
