- Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:- Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements provided by Anishnawbek Police Service (APS)-Dokis Detachment
- Child & Family Services provided by Nog-da-win-da-win Family & Community Services
- Community members access urgent health/hospital services at the Shkagamik-Kwe Health Centre in Sudbury, North Bay Regional Health Centre in North Bay, the West Nipissing Community Health Centre in Sturgeon Falls or Health Sciences North in Sudbury
- Serviced by air through the Greater Sudbury Airport, approx 30 km S of community
- Provides a $4.5-million multi-purpose facility called the Centre of Excellence; the 8,400-square-foot centre was officially opened in Sept 2012 and includes Band administration, the Maan Doosh Gamig meeting/events hall, the health clinic, the sustainable development department and business incubator services
- Offers several tourism related businesses owned by individual members and four camp/trailer/cottage grounds
- Operates a Band-owned business called Rocky's which consists of a licensed restaurant, convenience store, gas bar, marina, motel, meeting room and seasonal campground
- Participates in some of the mining, forestry and tourism activities in area being conducted by outside companies
- Publishes a monthly community newsletter available at Band Office and on website
- Hosts an Annual Traditional Pow Wow in August
- Provides green carts and kitchen containers for residents wishing to compost
- Supports a community Food Bank and a Good Food Box Program
- Participates in the Green Economy North program through a Sustainable Development Department
- Offers an active Volunteer Fire Department
- Provides a Waste Management and Landfill Site

Wahnapitae First Nation, ON, P0M 1H0- Band Office is located in the Centre of Excellence building at Taighwenini Trail on Wahnapitae First Nation
- Community is approx 50 km N of Sudbury, near Capreol on NW shores of Wanapitei Lake
- Consists of 1 main reserve with a land area of approx 10.36 sq km; may increase with the settlement of a pending land claim
- Reserve is known as Wahnapitae Indian Reserve No 11
- Completely separate from the community of Wahnapitae which is located on Hwy 17E within the city of Greater Sudbury
- First Nation name comes from "Wahnapitaeping" which means 'that place where the water is shaped like a molar tooth'
