- Oversees the collection, removal and disposal of household waste, recyclables and organic waste within the community
- Provides residential curbside garbage and recyclable collection weekly
- Offers a Wahnapitae First Nation (WFN) recycling guide at Band Office or on website
- Encourages businesses to participate in the Pay-As-You-Throw system to dispose of their waste at landfill; also offers punch cards for businesses for disposal of 100 bags of garbage including 7 free bags
- Accepts business recyclables free but must be delivered to Recycling trailer/depot
- Provides monitored access to the landfill site during designated hours
- Holds annual e-waste collection events to dispose properly of used electronics
- Participates in the Ontario Tire Stewardship program in recycling used tires
- Provides a dump landfill site for tree and leaf waste

- Receptacles/bags with household waste, organics and recyclables must be placed at curbside by 8 am
- Recyclables must be placed loosely in blue box; no clear bags accepted
- Green Cart composting materials can be placed out Tue and Thu with regular pick-up
- Tipping fees apply if using landfill; punch cards at Band Office
- Punch card accepted by Waste Diversion Technician at entry to landfill who will direct where to dispose of waste
- Open to both residents and businesses
- Must be accessed through discussion with the Waste Diversion Technician at the household waste landfill

- Consists of 1 main reserve with a land area of approx 10.36 sq km; may increase with the settlement of a pending land claim
- Reserve is known as Wahnapitae Indian Reserve No 11
- Completely separate from the community of Wahnapitae which is located on Hwy 17E within the city of Greater Sudbury
- First Nation name comes from "Wahnapitaeping" which means 'that place where the water is shaped like a molar tooth'
