Serves as the health and social services administration office
  • Administers the community health centre and community-based health programs
  • Oversees the Niigaaniin (Ontario Works) program and community social services
  • Receives advisory services from a Steering Committee
  • Collaborates with the Sagamok Elders Council and Youth Council to gain direction and advice with regard to critical community issues relating to elders, youth issues and health/social issues
  • Lobbies with external organizations and governments for the development of Health and Social Services
Northern Ontario Remote Telecommunication Health (NORTH) Network
  • Provides medical specialists, consultations, continuing health education and patient education to rural and remote areas in Ontario using two-way television
  • Helps patients gain access to medical specialists
  • Reduces the need to travel to receive care
