- Responsible for the maintenance of transportation systems including the repair of gravel and paved roads, bridges, sidewalks, traffic signage, road markings and open drainage systems
- Provides winter maintenance on roads, bridges and sidewalks including plowing, sanding, salting and snow removal operations
- Maintains traffic control and lighting systems including the maintenance and installation of signalized traffic control systems and the streetlights
- Provides cleaning and disinfection of bodily fluids such as blood, vomit, urine, and excrement on city roadways, lanes, and sidewalks
