Description

Provides supports and training for urban Indigenous people seeking further training and/or employment

  • Collaborates with employers to build employment and training opportunities
  • Provides individual employment counselling
  • Conducts client employability assessments
  • Offers access to job board with current local job postings
  • Provides workshops and referrals to training programs
  • Posts job opportunities/ads on Facebook page

Provides assistance with:

  • Resume and Cover Letter Development
  • Job Search
  • Job Plan and Goal Development
  • Interview Preparation and Skills
  • Referrals
  • Job Information
  • Scholarship/Bursary Information

Provides information about:

  • Local, provincial and national job markets
  • Small business and proposal development
  • Training opportunities

The Apatisiwin Program offers 11 interventions for eligible urban Indigenous individuals

The 11 Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS) based interventions are as follows:

Eligibility
  • Open to all with a focus on off-reserve Indigenous individuals
  • Youth Employment Counsellor available for youth 15-29 years of age
