Description
  • Provides short-term safe and crisis bed accommodations
  • Serves the Districts by providing beds in Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances
  • Provides assistance with transportation if required

Aims to assist clients by:
  • Addressing the crisis situation in a safe and calm setting
  • Reducing unnecessary hospitalization
  • Reducing contact with police
  • Assisting to access longer-term supports

Community Stabilization Unit located in Dryden; Dryden and Kenora locations are staffed 24/7
Eligibility
Individual (men and women) experiencing a mental health crisis or living with serious mental illness who requires short-term accommodation and:
  • Is voluntarily seeking assistance
  • Is not under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Is eligible for admission according to readmission criteria
  • Agrees to abide by the no self-harm or harm to others contract
