Lakehead District School Board
Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program
- Description
- School-to-work transition program offered through Ontario secondary schools
- Students earn cooperative education credits through cooperative education work placements in skilled trades
- Comments
- OYAP is a Program that allows students to explore and consider careers in skilled trades as attractive, viable career options on a similar footing with other post-secondary pathways. The program also allows students to complete secondary school credits to obtain their OSSD. In Addition, participants that complete the workplace-based learning component may be recognized by MTCU as having completed a portion of the on-the-job training requirements of a formal apprenticeship.
