Description
University health clinic
  • Offers primary health and mental health care to Lakehead University students
  • Students who have a local family physician are encouraged to continue to receive medical care from him or her, when possible, to ensure continuity of their medical care
Primary care services include:
  • episodic illnesses and chronic medical conditions
  • mental health concerns
  • sexual health concerns
  • wellness examinations and annual physicals
  • Tuberculosis (TB) skin tests when required for academic program
Counselling team provides students with short or long term emotional support for:
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Family and relationship issues
  • General mental health issues
  • Grief
  • Stress
  • Substance abuse concerns
Comments
Please note the clinic is closed on holidays.For emergencies outside the Centre and on campus, please call Security at 807-343-8911. Emergencies include chest pain, seizures, and injuries

Eligibility
Medical:
  • Currently enrolled Lakehead University (Thunder Bay campus) students who have paid the Health Services Support Fee in their tuition.
  • Provincial health card or alternate health coverage, such as University Health Insurance Plan, documentation and student card required

Counselling:
Currently enrolled Lakehead University (Thunder Bay campus) students

Note: The Health Services Support Fee is not the same as the LUSU Medical/Dental Insurance Fee

Services are by appointment which can be made by calling or visiting the Centre, but not by email
