MPs
  • Arranges, at 2 months notice, for special messages of congratulations from Her Majesty The Queen for anniversaries of 60 years or more and for birthdays 100 years or more
  • Note: proof of age or marriage is required to receive greetings from Her Majesty

Governor General
  • For anniversaries 50 years or more (every 5 years) and for birthdays 90 years or more (every 5 years)

  • Can arrange, at 6-8 weeks notice, for the Ontario Commemorative Scrolls which can be for Community Service (e.g. long-time service by an organization, worker, sports organization or volunteer)

Lieutenant Governor of Ontario
  • For 50th wedding anniversaries and up, 90th birthdays and up

  • Available on request for any special occasion, wedding anniversaries from 40 years and birthdays from 80 years, less if there is a special reason

Mayor
  • Scrolls can be sent for birthdays from 75 years and anniversaries from 50 years (less if there is a special reason)
  • Scrolls can be sent for visitors' scrolls for special occasions
    If the presentation is from the Mayor or a member of Council, at least a month's notice is required.

  • Apply to MP, MPP or Mayor
  • Provide verification for congratulations from the Queen, eg: photocopy of birth or wedding certificate
  • Old age security number also accepted for birthdays and a letter from a priest, minister or rabbi for anniversaries
  • For other certificates, verification is not needed
