Indigenous Courtworker Program


Description
  • Helps individuals navigate the judicial system
  • Explains legal rights and court procedures
  • Provides Courtworkers who act as a liaison between the offender, the courts and the Aboriginal Community Council Program (ACCP)
  • Provides counselling, referrals, follow-up and encouragement to offenders to become contributing members of the community
Comments
Courtworkers attend Provincial court Monday to Friday. They also attend court in Nipigon and Armstrong on a regular basis.
