Obashkaandagaang First Nation

Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the First Nation
  • Provides community events and activities at Obashkaandagaang First Nation Community Hall
  • Provides an Elder's Centre housing complex for community elders
  • Serviced by air through the Kenora Airport located 9.3 km NE of Kenora
  • Hosts an annual Pow Wow each summer

  • Washagamis First Nation has a land area of approx 29.8 sq km
  • No formal childcare on reserve; there are approximately 5-7 spots held for Obashkaandaang clients at the Wauzhusk Onigum Daycare
  • Elections in Aug 2017 resulted in a first-time all-female Chief and Council for Washagamis Bay
