Description
  • Operates as the designated District Stroke Centre for the Algoma District
  • Provides diagnosis, care and treatment for stroke victims
  • Coordinates telemedicine services
Eligibility
Individuals who have had signs and symptoms of a recent stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), or who are at risk of having a stroke or TIA
Application Process
  • Walk in to emergency department if experiencing any signs of stroke
  • Referral required from emergency room doctor, a family physician, or other medical/nursing specialist to attend stroke prevention clinic
