Description
Offers programs and services to assist individuals to develop the essential skills to achieve greater employability through further education
  • Provides literacy, numeracy and essential skills services
  • Supports in clarifying, upgrading goals
  • Develops training plan to achieve goals
  • Provides academic upgrading services to help individuals develop the necessary skills for entry into college based post secondary education and training programs (such as apprenticeship)
  • Offers General Educational Development (GED) preparation
  • Assists with transportation and child care funding if required

Coordinates free income tax preparation through community volunteers for seniors, low-income individuals, youth and persons living on social assistance; program runs from early March to Apr 30th, contact Adult Literacy Centre for more information
Hours of Operation
Mon-Wed 9 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4 pm * Thu 9 am-12 noon * Fri 1 pm-4 pm as needed

  • Individuals requiring upgrading of skills
  • Individuals who are out of school
  • Special emphasis on individuals receiving social assistance through Ontario Works
