Search Agency Service

  • Works to promote the community and to maintain and recruit business to the community
  • Provides business consulting
  • Provides assistance and support to local non-profit groups
  • Offers a business library for public access
Self Employment Assistance Program
  • Provides assistance in obtaining financial support for people who are on, or who have been on Employment Insurance and are wanting to start own business
  • Provides coaching tailored to needs and may include subjects such as business plan development, accounting, marketing
  • Provides ongoing technical advice and information regarding government programs
Opportunities Fund
  • Assists with preparing for and obtaining employment or self-employment for individuals living with physical limitations

Self Employment Assistance Program
  • Unemployed individuals or have an established Insurance Benefit (IB) claim, or one that has ended within the last three years, or have received maternity or parental benefits within the past five years after which they remained out of the labor market to care for the child and are now seeking to re-enter the labor force
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Have no previous participation in the Self-employment program within the last five years
  • Agree to provide a business plan within a reasonable period of time, showing potential for long term self-employment
  • Agree to work full-time (minimum 35hrs/week) on the business while receiving financial assistance

Opportunities Fund
  • Individual must self identify as having a permanent physical or mental disability which limits their daily activity
  • Are working less than an average of 20 hours per week and
    are actively seeking employment or increased employment
