Provides police services focusing on the following:
  • Assistance to victims of crime
  • Crime prevention
  • Emergency response, including canine tracking and search and rescue
  • Law enforcement
  • Public order maintenance (protests and riots)
  • Provides criminal reference checks
  • Some cell phone carries provide *OPP for emergency services
  • North East Region is located in Northbay
  • Comprised of 9 Municipal Police Services and 4 stand alone First Nations Police Agencies
  • Boundaries of the North East Region extend from Parry Sound and Burk's Falls in the south, to Moosonee and Hearst in the north, and from Mattawa in the east to White River in the west
Text with 9-1-1 service available in Kirkland Lake, Boston Twp, Chamberlain Twp, Charlton and Dack, Eby Twp, Englehart, Evanturel Twp, Gauthier Twp, Grenfell Twp, Larder Lake Twp, Lebet Twp, Marquis Twp, Maisonville Twp, McGarry Twp, Otto Twp, Pacaud Twp, Robillard Twp, Savard Twp and Sharpe Twp, to enable the deaf, deafened, hard of hearing or speech impaired (DHHSI) community to converse with 9-1-1 call centres using text messaging. You must register for T9-1-1 with your wireless service provider, and you must have a compatible cell phone. T9-1-1 should only be used for emergency situations that require a response from police, fire or emergency medical services.
