Food Bank

  • Provides non-perishable and perishable food items and clothing to individuals and families in need or in an emergency situation
  • Provides a week's worth of children's lunches and breakfasts
  • Offers a baby food cupboard with baby food, pablum, formula and diapers
  • Provides fish and wild game when available
  • Provides a variety of gently used clothing items for family members of all ages
  • Conducts many fundraising events such as movie nights, staff food challenges, raffles, draws and community events with proceeds towards the food bank
  • Oversees donation bins within the communities
  • Gladly accepts donations of gently used clothing, food items and cash
  • Members of Nipissing First Nation in need
  • Works on a priority list as follows: Seniors (over 60), Families with young children, NFN community members, NFN employees
  • Emergency requests (Emergency Access Form) for critical situations will be reviewed by staff and if approved, will be available during regular office hours; emergency requests granted to a maximum of 6 times per year (over and above regular monthly visits)
Application Process
  • Initial registration for food bank access required with Food Bank Coordinator
  • Requires order submitted ahead of food bank days; available by ordering online or calling food bank
  • Orders must be received by the previous Tuesday before 4pm, no exceptions
  • Participants are eligible for 1 visit per month (excluding emergencies)
  • Delivery available only to clients without a vehicle
  • Phone numbers are voluntarily collected for distribution of perishable items that may become available
