Description
Responsible for planning, developing and implementing all social, recreational and special events for members of the community
  • Facilities include a gymnasium, fitness centre, 2 outdoor rinks with heated change rooms, 3 playgrounds and 2 baseball fields
  • Works to reduce barriers for community members to lead a more active healthy lifestyle
  • Works to secure alternative funding sources to provide recreation programs
  • Offers activities for children during Professional Activity days at school
  • Provides planned activities for Halloween and Easter for children
  • Oversees the Nipissing First Nation Fitness Centre and coordinates memberships
Offers the following activities:
  • Bowling, baseball, volleyball and lacrosse
  • Basketball challenges
  • Volleyball camps
  • Hockey skills workshops
  • Fitness programs such as family swims, swimming lessons and gym nights
Offers and supervises programs such as:
  • Zumba
  • Tai Chi Program
  • Eat Smart Nutrition Program
  • Youth Cardio nights
