Functions as a volunteer group dedicated to the collection and preservation of area history, historic materials, pictures and artifacts for northeastern Manitoulin
  • Operates and houses collections at the Assiginack Museum and Heritage Complex
  • Facilitates museum tours
  • Secured the establishment of the SS Norisle for the port of Manitowaning as a tourist attraction
  • Ensured the purchase of the Burns Wharf and Roller Mills by the municipality and has been instrumental in the renovation of the Burns Wharf Theatre and activities at Norisle Park
  • Coordinates community events/activities such as music festivals and Heritage Days
  • Displays and sells books, historical maps and other items
  • Compiled and published "A Time to Remember: A History of the Municipality of Assiginack" in 1996
  • Holds various fundraising events
