Description
Functions as a volunteer group dedicated to the collection and preservation of area history, historic materials, pictures and artifacts for central Manitoulin
  • Operates and houses collections at the Central Manitoulin Pioneer Museum
  • Facilitates museum tours and operates a gift shop at the Welcome Centre
  • Conducts group historical walking tours within the community
  • Coordinates community events/activities such as music festivals, sports days and Heritage Days
  • Collaborates with other groups to offer creative writing contests for area school children
  • Displays and sells books, historical maps and other items at the summer market
  • Holds various fundraising events such as quilt raffles and fall apple bake sales
  • Publishes an annual newsletter
