Description
Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities 

Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Child and Family services provided by Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services, Head Office in Wiikwemkoong
  • Serviced by air through the Gore Bay-Manitoulin Airport
  • Services western Manitoulin communities and First Nations with a newly constructed helipad opened in May 2016
  • Community members conduct shopping and some business affairs in the town of Gore Bay
  • Provides a community store called Gamiing Gas and Convenience Store
  • Hosts community events and activities at the Sheshegwaning Community Complex
  • Operates a seasonal cabin rental business
  • Provides Nimkee's Hiking Trails, a 20-km trail along the northern shoreline
  • Hosts an annual Traditional Pow Wow during the third weekend of June
  • Enacted the Sheshegwaning KChi-Naaknigewin (Constitution) into law in Jan 2017, the Sheshegwaning Kinoomaagewin Naaknigewin (Education Law) in Mar 2018 and the Sheshegwaning Legislative Enactment Regulation in Mar 2018
  • Administers St Joseph's Anishinabek School and education services under the Sheshegwaning Education Department
  • Operates an Elders Drop-In Centre
  • Provides a Public Library for community members
  • Offers health care and health programs at Sheshegwaning Health Centre
  • Coordinates a community Food Bank
  • Established a Hydroponic Growing System in Jul 2020 to enable community residents to have fresh vegetables year-round
  • Offers a Volunteer Fire Department
