Sheguiandah First Nation


Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities 

Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements provided by UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service, headquarters in M'Chigeeng, ph: 705-377-7135 fx: 705-377-5583
  • Child & Family Protection Services (Prevention services delivered directly by community) provided by Kina Gbezhgomi Child & Family Services, head office in Wiikwemkoong First Nation
  • Provides a Gas Station/Variety Store and an Elder's building
  • Provides a multi-use interpretive Round House/Heritage Centre used to host a variety of First Nations presentations, conferences, cross-cultural education and training seminars and heritage exhibits
  • Offers a community Recreation Centre and lighted outdoor skating rink
  • Provides health care at Sheguiandah Health Centre
  • Offers the Sheguiandah Public Library
  • Hosts annual Pow Wow in early July and referred to as one of the best pow wows to attend
