Description
Represents the community in all lands and related issues
  • Ensures administrative measures and controls are developed to meet the requirements of the Sheguiandah First Nation (SFN)
  • Adheres to and ensures that all procedures as defined by SFN lands are completed
  • Negotiates and approves rental or lease of various properties on behalf of property owners and ensures that terms of leases are met
  • Reviews all documents submitted by community members for residential, business, industry, public, other government departments and institutes of public government (land use permits, leases, licenses, etc)
  • Examines updates and verifies accuracy of various maps, site plans, and surveys for SFN
  • Maintains and inputs historical and current information into various systems (GIS, MMS System, Databases)
  • Provides statistical reports on land use activities
  • Reads, interprets, catalogues and maintains maps, air photos and satellite images of SFN lands
  • Inputs and maintains data within the GIS system
  • Maintains land use inventory requests
  • Acts as the lead in developing the community land use plan
  • Collects and uses data for use in preparation of the comprehensive plan and develops zoning regulations
  • Develops and reviews SFN bylaws that are relative to the community development plan
  • Prepares annual lands budget and work plans
  • Maintains accounts receivable information related to land administration processes/payments
