Windigo First Nations Council
Resource Development

  • Provides strategic and policy advice regarding the conservation, protection and management of the natural resources within the Windigo traditional territory
  • Offers advisory services to each member community about the potential development of those resources

Advisory services offered in the following departments and projects:
  • Economic Development
  • Lands and Resources

Musselwhite Project
  • Acts in an advisory capacity and liaison between the Windigo member communities and Musselwhite Mine
  • Works to ensure that the terms of the Musselwhite Agreement are carried out; terms include First Nation benefits from the mine, a strategy to minimize any negative effects and a commitment to protect the environment
  • Assists in areas of training and employment skills development for First Nation members working at the mine
